Hopefully this helps many people with add key situations. Another locksmith in the valley ordered a key fob FROM THE DEALERSHIP BY VIN NUMBER(N9080). The key they provided would not program but the customer’s key went back in just fine. Unsure how we’re going to address AKL (all keys lost) key identification in the future if even the dealership parts department has it wrong in their database aside from keeping personal notes.
Error: failed to recognize transponder.
I discovered that this particular model, even though it was built in Alabama in February of 2022, required the 2023 (N9082) key fob.
