User report:
Added a VW ID4 2021 MQB49 5D spare smart key with Keydiy KD-X4 successfully.
5d key added no problem, no sfd unlock required, all went smoothly.
For my first one, used a genuine 5D key, only downside was had to open up new key to write data. If you use genuine key this is the only way.
Using a universal 5D 5C clip adapter to read key data.
Keydiy also KD FGB25 5D key. These work well, but KD FGB25 doesn’t have UWB, so door touch functions wouldn’t work if the car has UWB, but 2021 may not have UWB. I did a 2024 Cupra the other day with the same style key but had UWB. Customer didn’t mind as they wanted a cheaper spare but I did tell them prior to doing the job.
